- THE CHRISTIAN'S BATTLE: Walking in the Spirit vs. Fulfilling Your Lusts By:-Jasmien Hudson
Can you relate to this? Saved at age six, attending church regularly, even touring with a gospel choir...and STILL straddling the fence between walking FULLY in the Spirit and fulfilling the lusts of the flesh?! Now, don’t be so quick to judge. For many obeying the obvious commandments like don't murder and don't steal is easy, but following other teachings like the Beatitudes sure is tough. Upon close examination of my early Christian challenges, I realized I was creating my own chaos, challenges, and temptations by insisting on partial obedience. Did YOU know that conflict can ONLY exist when two objectives oppose one another? Well, the word clearly states the Spirit and the flesh are absolutely contrary to one another. Therefore, they cannot coexist without a raging battle! I was glad when I finally embraced this truth and began to live a Spirit-led life. Then and only then were many battles in my life won for good!
